Passenger vans to be relocated from Mo Chit bus terminal

BANGKOK, Feb 14 (TNA) -- The State-run Transport Company confirms that inter-provincial passenger vans at the Mo Chit bus terminal would be relocated to a new area opposite the bus terminal on April 1. The construction of a new passenger van terminal on a 30-rai plot under a nearby elevated expressway was 60% completed. There will be four buildings for ticket sales and a command building. Each ticket sale building will accommodate 12 ticket booths. Passenger van operators now have about 140 tables for ticket reservation at the Mo Chit terminal. Jirasak Yaowatsakul, President of Transport Co, said his company had yet to discuss the inclusion of passenger van ticket reservation in its computerized ticket sales system for convenient services for passengers and easy supervision by his company. Both sides would decide if Transport Co would assign the ticketing system integration to its contractor or a contractor of passenger van operators. Meanwhile, Maj Gen Surapol Tapananont, chairman of Transport Co, launched the “Happy CG & Happy CSR” activity to encourage its staff to be responsible for society and the environment for the sake of its sustainability.
