PM2.5 level slightly rises in Bangkok today

BANGKOK, Feb 15 (TNA) – The particulate matter level has increased slightly this morning despite warmer temperature, said the Director-General of the Department of Pollution Control. The pollution control department chief Sunee Piyapanpong said the air monitoring stations in the capital showed PM2.5 level slightly rose in all areas from yesterday. She presumed that worsened smog could be partly resulted from outdoor burning of joss paper during the Chinese New Year and the weather condition is expected to improve tomorrow, depending on the wind. She said according to the Public Health Ministry, there is no report of new patients, suffering from respiratory disease due to the dust particle. The public should not panic but they are advised to wear N95 face masks or cover their noses with wet towels when they are exposed to dust-prone areas. (TNA)
