PM takes field trip to Nakhon Pathom
BANGKOK, Feb 19 (TNA) – Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha will visit Nakhon Pathom province on Wednesday to meet local farmers and dairy cattle raisers and follow up the implementation of the government policy.
Deputy government spokesperson Col Taksada Sangkhachan said Gen Prayut Chan-ocha and cabinet members will board an army helicopters to Nakhon Pathom. The first stop of their trip is the Laem Bua learning centre to increase production efficiency in Nakhon Chaisri district.
The centre is successfully in adopting the Science of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej and technology for reduction of rice production cost and organic rice cultivation.
The prime minister will participate in growing rice with the sprout throwing methods in a demonstrative paddy field.
He will then travel to a plot of royally-granted land in Phuttha Monthon to see the lotus field of a farmer. His Majesty late King Bhumibol granted his land for in 1975 to farmers and his initiative is the beginning of land reform in Thailand.
Gen Prayut will also visit the Baan Saladin riverside market, promoted for agritourism. The local community market is established to allow local people to sell their safe farm products to tourists, which help them earn income.
The prime minister will then meet dairy cattle raisers at Baan Nongchik and observe the business operation of the Kamphaeng Saen Dairy Cooperative, which collect milk from members and supply milk products to the school milk project.
He will witness the province governor, giving knockdown green houses, agricultural machinery and rice milling machines to farmers before returning to Bangkok on the same day. (TNA)
