Virtual reality exhibition at Japanese Village
AYUTTHAYA, Feb 22 (TNA) -- Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn opened a virtual reality exhibition on the history of Japanese Village in Koh Rian sub-district of Ayutthaya province.
The Thai-Japanese Association, the Japanese Chamber of Commerce in Bangkok and leading Thai and Japanese organisations held the exhibition to celebrate the 130th anniversary of Thai-Japanese relations.
Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn visited the VR Theater that featured Virtual Reality Street Museum. It presented the history of the Ayutthaya Kingdom and Japanese village in the 17th century through high-definition virtual reality content. It showed Japanese village in the Ayutthaya period and trade by boats which started Thai-Japanese ties.
Narrations were in Thai, Japanese and English and visitors saw 360 degree panoramic pictures of Japanese Village.
The Japanese government first renovated Japanese village in 1986 and the renovation has continued since. A new garden by the Chao Phraya River and a permanent exhibition centre were built.
On the occasion the princess visited a market of Thai desserts and handicrafts and saw a Japanese tea ceremony demonstration.
Also exhibited were the profiles of important persons including Yamada Nagamasa also known as Okya Senaphimuk who was the head of Japanese village and Portuguese-Japanese Thao Thong Kip Ma who played important roles in the royal palace of Ayutthaya and introduced Thong Yib, Thong Yod and Foi Thong desserts.
