Jobs for students during school holidays

BANGKOK, Feb 22 (TNA) -- The labour minister launched a project offering jobs to students during their school holidays to develop national workforce. More than 700 companies participate with about 30,000 job positions. Labour Minister Adul Sangsingkeo launched the project for young workers at the Labour Ministry. It was aimed at finding jobs for students during their upcoming school holidays to let them gain useful experiences and generate income. The project would prepare future labour and help support the implementation of national strategies, Pol Gen Adul said. More than 700 companies in Bangkok and other provinces participate and offer nearly 30,000 jobs to interested students. At the event venue, QR codes are applied to inform visitors of vacant job positions and communicate guides on work during school holidays. Students who will work under the project will enjoy labour protection and welfare in accordance with the regulations of the Labour Ministry. Employers will pay full compensation when students fall sick or are injured during their work. Those who have worked for four hours will have an hour of break. Offered jobs include product sales and market researches, as well as services at restaurants, department stores, convenience stores, and cargo warehouses. (TNA)
