PM praises Sisaket who can retain super-flyweight boxing crown

BANGKOK, Feb 26 (TNA) -- Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha praised "Laem" or Srisaket Sor Rungvisai, a Thai boxer, for successfully defending his super fly-weight title against his Mexican contender in Los Angeles. Government spokesman Sansern Kaewkamnerd said Prime Minister Gen Prayut is delight with Laem Srisaket from the Nakhon Luang Promotion Gym for fending of Mexican challenger Juan Francisco Estrada in a majority decision. This is the Thai boxer's 2nd successful title defence of the WBC super-flyweight (115 pounds) crown. The spokesman revealed the PM's admiration for Laem's big hearted in overcoming the Mexican who was a very skilled fighter and had tremendous endurance. Gen Prayut said that this victory highlighted Laem's spirit, determination and resourcefulness as a boxer. Lt Gen Sansern went on to say that the PM spoke on behalf of the Thai people when he said that everyone was proud of Laem because his achievements provided the people with happiness. Even more than that the 31-year old has shown the world the mettle of Thai boxers and raised the standing of Thai pugilism in the global arena. The PM wanted all Thais to heed Laem's example and use it as a motivation to train and improve themselves in their own pursuits. (TNA)
