Information minister praises Bahraini-Egyptian relations

Manama, Mar. 6 (BNA): Information Affairs Minister and Board of Trustees Chairman of the Bahrain Institute for Political Development (BIPD), Ali bin Mohammed Al-Romaihi, has lauded the distinction of the solid deep-rooted brotherly Bahraini-Egyptian relations, and their success in reaching the highest levels of cooperation and partnership, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi. Al-Romaihi made the statements while receiving the Dean of Egypt’s Syndicate of Journalists and Board of Directors Chairman of the Al-Ahram Foundation, Abdel Mohsen Salameh. Al-Ahram Newspaper Editor-in-Chief, Alaa Thabit, Al-Ahram Al Masaey Editor-in-Chief, Majid Munir, Al-Ahram Al-Arabi magazine’s Editor-in-Chief, Jamal Al-Koshk, ahramonline’s Editor-in-Chief, Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Dsuqi, as well as Al-Ahram Cultural Festival Chairman, Ahmed Ibrahim Amer and Coordinator-General, Hani Farooq, were also present.  The minister welcomed the visit of the delegation to the kingdom, expressing pride in the historical role played by the foundation to support the intellectual, cultural and civilisational renaissance and enlightenment movement. He also praised the foundation’s authentic stances in support of joint Arab action, as well as Arab and Islamic issues and rights, hailing its contributions to facing extremism as well as to denouncing foreign interference in the region’s affairs.  Al-Romaihi praised the firm brotherly supportive stances of the Egyptian press and media towards Bahrain’s security, stability, Arab identity, development process and democratic progress. The minister highlighted his keenness on activating cooperation with Egypt in the press, information and communication sectors through the exchange of news, information and technical expertise. He also highlighted his keenness on enhancing coordination with the Egyptian press and media to develop the role of the Arab media in order to be able to convey its developmental and educational missions, and undertake its duties of promoting the values of tolerance and countering extremist ideologies that incite hatred and terrorism. The Dean of Egypt’s Syndicate of Journalists expressed thanks and appreciation to the Bahraini leadership and people for the warm welcome and gracious hospitality, praising the Kingdom’s interest in boosting the distinguished fraternal relations with his country.  Abdel Mohsen Salameh wished Bahrain ever-lasting security and stability, as well as further progress and prosperity during His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s prosperous era.
