Thailand, Malaysia agree on information exchange on transnational crime
BANGKOK, March 15 (TNA) - Thailand hosted the General Border Committee (GBC) meeting with Malaysia in Bangkok.
Thai Deputy Prime Minister/Defence Minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwon and Malaysian Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein co-chaired the 54th Thai –Malaysian General Border Committee (GBC) at Peninsula Hotel in Bangkok.
The two sides welcomed progress in cooperation to strengthen military ties, made by the High-Level Committee, the Regional Border Committee and the Joint Combine and Exercise Committee.
The bilateral cooperation leads to border security and more exchange of information, particularly on transnational crime at border.
The meeting also proposed holding the 4th joint military exercise on humanitarian missions and disaster relief.
Both countries will see possibility if other ASEAN countries and allies could join or observe the training. (TNA)
