Best Thailand tourism app to be launched

NONTHABURI, March 16 (TNA) – The Commerce Ministry has provided its database on tourism-related service providers for the development of the Thailand Tourism Directory application software that is set to be launched in May. Kulanee Isadisai, director-general of the Department of Business Development, said the information on tourist service providers was shared with the Tourism and Sports Ministry for the application development. With the smart phone application, users would initially have lists of about 3,000 Thai restaurants, homestay accommodations, health massage parlours and spa parlours nationwide, she said. The application software would promote standard service providers certified by the Commerce Ministry and targeted local and foreign tourists, especially the tourists who did not use tour guide services, Mrs Kulanee said. Thailand Tourism Directory would gather the biggest, most accurate and most updated lists of tourism-related information, tour routes, and tourism-related services in the country, she said. Thailand welcomed 35.38 million visitors and generated 1.82 trillion baht from their spending last year. (TNA)
