Paris Book Fair Begins, Qatar Participates
Paris, March 16 (QNA) - President of France Emanuel Macron inaugurated Friday the 38th edition of Paris Book Fair, with more than 1250 publishing houses participating from across the globe.
The French president visited the Qatari section, as part of his tour of the fair, in the attendance of HE Qatar's Ambassador to France Dr Khalid bin Rashid Al Mansori, HE Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to UNESCO Ali Zainal, and a number of officials from the Ministry of Culture and Sports.
The Ministry will present in the fair its publishing work, particularly ones translated to and from French. They will also display other publishing work of different state institutions. Qatari writers will participate in a talk as well that takes place on the second day of the event. Dr Hashem Al Sayed and Dr Shorouq Al Malki, two Qatari writers, will also participate in the event to present their work which was translated to French and English.
Paris Book Fair "Livre Paris" will have 1200 exhibitors, with 45 countries taking part. There will also be 800 conferences and events. (QNA)
