Museum fee exemption on Thai Heritage Conservation Day
BANGKOK, March 28 (TNA) – The Fine Arts Department exempts entrance fee for national museums and historical parks nationwide.
The department’s director-general Ananda Chuchoti said that the Cabinet on Feb 26, 1985 designated April 2 to be observed as the Thai Heritage Conservation Day to honor Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, who is a role model for conservation of Thai culture and arts.
The department waives entrance fees at national museums and historical parks across the country to mark the Thai Heritage Conservation Day on April 2.
Special cultural events will be held at main historical sites in Bangkok and four regions, including Wat Kamphaeng Bangchak in Bangkok, Dong Lakorn ancient town of the Dvaravati period in Nakhon Nayok, Wiang Thakan historical site in Chiang Mai, Prasart Thonglang in Ubon Ratchathani and Khao Srivichai in Surat Thani.
The national museum in Bangkok’s Phra Nakhon district will hold the Thai Heritage Conservation week from April 2-8. There will be cultural shows, performed by artists from the office of performing arts from 5.30 pm to 10 pm. free of charge. (TNA)
