Commerce Ministry to open website for selling local products

NONTHABURI, April 3 (TNA) – Commerce Ministry will launch a website as an e-directory for Thai local products to boost sales of small enterprises across the country. Kulanee Issadisai, Director-General of the Business Development Department said that the website “Kongdeetourthai.com” will be ready for service within this month. The products will be divided into categories, easy for searching and customers will be able to give ratings about their satisfaction on goods and service for each online shop. The feedbacks will help these small- scale entrepreneurs to improve their goods quality and service. OTOP (One Tambon One Product) goods, Geographical Indication (GI) goods, organic farming products, goods from the MOC Biz Club, the business network supported by the ministry will be available on the website. Initially, more than 2,000 enterpreneurs will join the programme and the number is expected to rise to 5,000 in June. The website will also link with e-marketplaces such as Lazada, Shopee, and Thaitrade.com as well as e-payment through commercial banks and logistics providers. Inexperienced entrepreneurs will be assisted in online shop management. The promotion of online sales channel for small entrepreneurs will strengthen the country’s grassroots economy, the director-general said. (TNA)
