Thai blind footballers to join world championships in Spain

BANGKOK, April 4 (TNA) -- Thailand’s national team of blind footballers met the chief of defence forces before leaving for the Blind Football World Championships in Spain. The delegation of 35 players and officials called on Gen Thanchaiyan Srisuwan at the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters. In the meeting, representatives of the Sports Association for the Blind of Thailand said the blind footballer team won the third place in the IBSA Blind Football Asian Championships KL 2017 in Kuala Lumpur during Dec 9-18, 2017. Consequently the team represents Asia in the IBSA Blind Football World Championships2018 set in Madrid on June 5-18. The delegation expressed gratitude towards Gen Thanchaiyan and the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters for their support for the national team of blind footballers. In response, Gen Thanchaiyan gave his best wishes to the team and said it had a good chance to develop national reputation at the international level. (END)
