Don Mueang Airport crowded with passengers

BANGKOK, April 11 (TNA) – Don Mueang Airport is crowded with travellers and those who are returning home to the provinces for the Songkran Thai New Year celebrations. Apart from domestic travellers, foreign tourists particularly from China were seen arriving at the airport today. Don Mueang general manager Wing Commander Suthirawat Suwanawat said it is expected that 122,800 passengers will travel through the airport daily on average from April 11-17, up 14.84 per cent from the same period last year. The airport will serve 769 flights daily during the period, an 8.41 – per cent increase year-on-year. To facilitate passengers during the Songkran festival, a center has been set up on the third floor of Terminal 2 to assist passengers, who need help. It is opened around the clock until April 24. Moreover, the airport offers free parking from April 9-24 at four spots, which can accommodate about 550 vehicles in total. Free shuttle buses are available for passengers from the parking lots to the terminal building. (TNA)
