Songkran vacationers may face summer storms on return trips

BANGKOK, April 14 (TNA) -- The Meteorological Department has warned of summer storms in many regions between April 15 and 18 after a storm already hit 120 houses in the northeastern province of Nakhon Ratchasima Thursday. Damage was seen in 20 villages of Than La Lod and Samrit sub-districts in Phimai district of Nakhon Ratchasima. About 120 houses were affected. Many power poles were felled and blackouts occurred in many villages. Local authorities were helping affected people. Such damage is likely to expand as the Meteorological Department predicts summer storms and hail in upper regions from April 15 to 18. The weather condition will start in the Northeast and the East on April 15 and arrive in the North and the Central Plain including greater Bangkok on the following day. (TNA)
