Thailand to export mango to Australia

NEW SOUTH WALES, April 14 (TNA) -- Thailand is expected to export its delicious mangoes to Australia later this year with an aim to assist mango growers and to enable the country earn more foreign exchange. The effort is being made by Agriculture and Cooperatives Minister Grisada Boonrach who has already informed the Australian ambassador to Thailand and agriculture officials attached to the Thai embassy in Canberra to accelerate on an opening of Thai mango market in Australia. The ministry has asked for the permission from the Canberra government for Thailand to export mangoes to that country. Mr Grisada is now making a visit to Australia and has visited the Flemington Agricultural Market in New South Wales. The market also sells tropical fruits and vegetables. There are huge opportunities for Thai mango to gain popularity in Australia because mango production season in Australia is not the same with Thailand. (TNA)
