Veunkham people encouraged to plant cassava for processing industry
(KPL) The Clean Agricultural Product Development Center, Planting Department, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry in collaboration with the Indochina Agricultural Development Company recently has asked the people in Veunkham village to use 42 ha to plant the cassava for processing factory.
According to the local source, the Indochina Company will supply seeds with the low price and to provide three year credit and to sign the purchasing agreement with the farmers. The Indochina company will also help the farmers to pre+pare some of documents for finding the fund resources and to offer a number of technical assistance while the Clean Agricultural Product Development Center has agreed to provide machines and technical assistance.
The Clean Agricultural Product Development Center also planted the cassava on 50 ha by organizing the production unit with the participation of the local farmers. The planting has been started since April, 2008 and the harvesting is expected to be completed this month.
