Thailand's success in organs transplant

BANGKOK, May 3 (TNA) -- Bangkok’s Siriraj Hospital announces its successful combined heart- liver-kidney transplants, the first in Asia. The male patient had surgeries and gone through rehabilitation that took only 83 days, said Dr Prasit Watanapa, Dean of the Faculty of Medicines, Siriraj Hospital, in a press conference on Wednesday. The team of doctors began the organ transplants on December 3 last year with thorough planning before operations to transplant heart, liver and kidney respectively, Dr Prasit said. Post-surgery evaluations including tissue test and ultrasound revealed that all organs functioned well and the patient had been discharged from hospital on February 23, said Dr Prasit. (TNA)
