Most expensive land of greater Bangkok announced
BANGKOK, May 4 (TNA) -- Siam Square and Sukhumvit-Times Square are the areas of most expensive land in greater Bangkok, according to property consultancy Agency for Real Estate Affairs (AREA).
AREA president Sopon Pornchokchai said a survey this year showed that land prices in greater Bangkok rose by 5.3% due to electric railway projects which covered 124 stations. Economic conditions did not cause the price rise.
The prices of land along the BTS railway routes rose higher than average. Those of land plots on Wireless (Withayu) Road showed the highest increase of 25% to 2 million baht per square wa partly because of the sale of the British embassy’s compound.
According to Mr Sopon, the most expensive land is in Siam Square and Sukhumvit-Times Square areas at 2.2 million baht per square wa or 4 square metres followed by Withayu area at 2 million baht per square wa; Silom at 1.85 million baht per square wa; Sukhumvit, Asok and Sathon areas at 1.65 million baht per square wa; Yaowarat at 1.3 million baht per square wa; Sukhumvit-Ekamai at 1.1 million baht per square wa; inner Phahon Yothin area at 1 million baht per square wa; and Phaya Thai at 0.95 million baht per square wa.
“Land in Ploenchit, Siam Square and Chidlom areas is the most expensive in the country at 2.2 million baht per square wa. New condominiums there will be available at 400,000 baht per square metre. The cheapest land in greater Bangkok is on Lam Luk Ka Road and Liab Klong 13 Road at 2,700 baht per square wa,” Mr Sopon said. (TNA)
