PM visits Surin

SURIN, May 7 (TNA) -- Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha today travelled to the northeastern province of Surin where he voiced his concerns over crop selection and advised farmers to become involved in online marketing. Gen Prayut led a delegation to visit the traditional silk weaving village of Ban Tha Sawang Village in Surin municipality. Villagers have preserved their traditional weaves that is recognised a the highest form of weaving technique in the country. In his address to local residents, the PM took the opportunity to advise farmers to adopt farming schedules that directly corresponded with market demands and not plant whatever they wanted. Such move is counterproductive and leads to oversupply from too many people planting the same crops. As such Gen Prayut wanted farmers to become more involved with online marketing so that they can directly access customers and accurately meet their demands. Later in the afternoon Gen Prayut travelled to Buri Ram province to check on progress being made in the preparations for the 15th Round of the PTT Thailand Grand Prix at the Buriram Chang International Circuit. Later that evening the PM and his delegation visited the Sroew Ground Walking Street a cultural street awarded for the best community and environmental. (TNA)
