BMA spends10 million baht beautifying Pak Klong Talad

BANGKOK, May 11 (TNA) – Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) spends 10 million baht beautifying the landscape at Pak Klong Talad, once the iconic flower market in Bangkok. Bangkok governor Aswin Kwanmuang on Friday inspected Pak Klong Talad area, one of the six major locations in the beautification projects of the BMA for tidiness, cleanliness and maintain the identity of the communities. About 780- metre pavements on both sides of Chakphet Road are being improved with slopes, designed for wheelchair users. Four trees at risk of falling will be relocated to another place. The work is expected to be finished in September. Bangkok governor said the BMA will discuss with the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission and the Metropolitan Electricity Authority to move communication cables and electrical wires for about 5,000- kilometre distance underground. Other five spots to be beautified under the BMA project are Phraya Thai Road from the Victory Monument to Hua Chang bridge, Phaholyothin Raod from Lat Phrao intersection to the Victory Monument, two sections on Sukhumvit Road and Chiang Mai Road in Klong San district.
