Drug dealer gang arrested

BANGKOK, May 12 (TNA) - Over 10 million tablets of methamphetamine are confiscated from a drug dealer gang in Bangkok’s outskirt linked to Wa ethnic group. Police traced members of “Jom Thong” gang while trafficking the large haul of methamphetamine and nearly 400 kilograms of crystal meth or ice from Ayutthaya to Bangkok. Six suspects were arrested with two pistols and four vehicles. National police chief Pol General Chakthip Chaijinda said the gang distributing drugs mainly in Bangkok’s Jom Thong district smuggled the batch from a Wa ethnic group in Myanmar’s Shan State through a northern province. Police believed the group tried to move the shipments worth about Bt1 billion to Malaysia. Investigation is underway to implicate leader of the group as the six suspects are just couriers. (TNA)
