ISTANBUL (A.A) - 06.03.2009 - A Japanese electronics and home appliances manufacturer entered Turkish market, a company official said on Friday.
Japan's Hitachi company put its refrigerators to the Turkish market at the beginning of this week, sales manager of Technotel, a company that has brought the brand to Turkey, said.
"The company has entered Turkish market with Cool Action refrigerators," sales manager Tulay Asmaz told a press conference in the Turkish commercial hub of Istanbul.
Asmaz said that the company aimed to open about 50 branches, particularly in Istanbul, Ankara (capital), Izmir (western) and Bursa (northwestern), and sell its products in chain stores like Media Markt, Metro and Carrefour.
Asmaz said that the company might put LCD TVs to market as a second product.
The manager said that Hitachi would continue investing in Turkey despite the global economic crisis, and aimed at holding 10 percent of the market within four years.
Hitachi has put 18 models of refrigerators to Turkish market, ranging from 220-700 liters, and plans to bring two new models. The prices range between 900 Turkish liras (TL) and 6,000 TL.
The Hitachi Cool Action provides energy saving with its "Minus Zero" cooling system. The refrigerators also have "Nano Titanium" technology preventing smell and bacteria.
The Japanese company employs around 390,000 people around the world. It has 419 branches in Japan, 271 in Asia, 106 in Europe, 75 in North America and 40 in other countries.
