Navy SEAL resume search for trapped teenagers in flooded cave
CHIANG RAI, June 26 (TNA) – The Royal Thai Navy’s SEAL, a special operations force team, resumed search for 12 missing young football players and their coach in the Tham Luang cave in the Tham Luang Khun Nam Nang Non forest reserve in the northern province of Chiang Rai.
The group entered the cave on Saturday afternoon and were trapped inside after the rising water, triggered by rainfall blocked the passage in the cave.
The navy’s rescue effort began at 07.20 am after it was suspended yesterday due to high level of muddy water.
The rescue team yesterday could get through the flooded narrow passage to the main chamber and found hand and foot prints of the teenagers. Today, they target to go two kilometres deeper to the dry area, where the missing group is believed to stay there, waiting for help.
Meanwhile, Dr Paiboon Pongakkasira, emergency medicine doctor and medical teams of Mae Sae Hospital are on standby at the cave and medical equipment is dispatched for emergency cases. (TNA)
