Importers to visit rubber producers in Thailand

BANGKOK, June 26 (TNA) - Teams of diplomats and business operators from rubber importing economies will soon visit rubber plantations and manufacturers of rubber products in the Thai South to observe the high quality of Thai natural rubber and rubber products that meet the international standards. Yiam Thawarorit, Acting Governor of the Rubber Authority of Thailand (RAOT), told journalists on June 25 that 20 teams of diplomats and nine teams of business operators from rubber importing economies will soon visit local rubber plantations and manufacturers of rubber products in Krabi and Trang Provinces in the Thai South, as earlier invited by RAOT. According to the acting RAOT governor, the teams of diplomats will include those from China, India, Japan, South Korea, Finland, Germany, Kazakhstan, Russia, Turkey, Australia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Brazil, Mexico and Peru, while the team of business operators will include those from China, Taiwan, Japan, Sri Lanka, India, Iran, South Korea, the United States and Mexico. "Officials of RAOT and the Thai Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives will take the teams of international diplomats and business operators to visit rubber plantations under a rubber cooperative in Trang's Huai Yod District, whose natural rubber produce meets the Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) standard, and visit another rubber cooperative in Trang's Muang District, where there are manufacturing plants of processed rubber products that meet the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), namely smoked rubber sheets, rubber cubes and premium-graded rubber compound", said the acting RAOT governor. "The international rubber teams will also visit manufacturing plants of concentrated rubber latex and toys made from rubber trees in the southern Thai provinces", the acting RAOT governor added. The acting RAOT governor stated that the upcoming field trip of the teams of diplomats and business operators of rubber importing economies is aimed to not only publicize the high quality of Thailand's natural rubber and rubber products, but also boost more exports of Thai natural rubber and rubber products in the coming months.
