Medical evacuation system ready for missing boys

BANGKOK, July 2 (TNA) – The medical evacuation system is ready to be put in place to save 13 lives when they are rescued from the flooded cave. Public Health Minister Piyasakol Sakolsatayadorn said that public officials are worried about the teen football players and their coach, having been stranded in the Tham Luang cave in Tham Luang Khun Nam Nang Noon Forest Park in Chiang Rai for ten days. The ministry has prepared to receive them for treatment right after they are brought out from the cave. Under the medical system for the survivors from the cave, health staff will keep their body temperature warm. Their eyes will be protected from the sunlight after they stay in the pitch darkness for several days. Their immunization system may be dropped from lack of food and water. They will undergo check-ups for possible infections. He said six helicopters are on standby to airlift them to Chiangrai Prachanukroh Hospital within 15 minutes. If the weather hampers the helicopter from taking off, the survivors will be sent to hospital by 13 ambulances within one hour. Chiang Rai Prachanukroh Hospital is one of the top hospitals under the ministry, which meet the international standard. (TNA)
