Palm Tree Festival on July 27-28
Manama, July 23 (BNA): The National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD) is organising a two-day cultural festival titled "Palm Tree Festival" with the cooperation of Bahrain Development Bank (BDB) and the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning at the Farmer’s Market in Hoorat Aali on July 27-28.
The festival will feature a number of entertaining and cultural activities with the participation of a group of Bahraini farmers, companies, productive families and handicraftsmen exhibiting and selling products extracted from the palm trees.
The festival aims at encouraging and supporting the local production of all palm tree products including the various types of dates known for their quality and taste in Bahrain and the region. The event will also provide opportunity to local farmers to promote their products to the public and increase their selling margins and investments.
A small handicrafts exhibition will feature in the festival to highlight the Bahraini traditional crafts and document the lifestyle of our ancestors. There will also be a children’s corner focusing on educational and cultural workshops in addition to agricultural activities, computer games, face painting.
The traditional "Heya Beya" will be distributed among young boys and girls in addition to many other surprises. The festival will be open free of charge to the public on Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
