Bahrain's efforts to promote tolerance stressed

Manama, July 23 (BNA): Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh visited King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence where he was welcomed by its Board of Trustees Chairman Dr. Shaikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa. Deputy Chairman Betsy Mathieson and members of the Board of Trustees were also present. Dr. Shaikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa expressed happiness about the visit, lauding the Shura Council’s efforts and constant cooperation with the centre in implementing the royal vision of boosting the culture of openness, coexistence and acceptance of the other. He pointed out that the diplomacy of coexistence and global peace adopted by Bahrain is the winning card in projecting Bahrain as an inspirational civilisational model in respecting and accepting the other. He stressed the royal efforts in promoting peaceful coexistence, tolerance and pluralism as a culture in Bahrain. The Shura Council Chairman praised the tremendous efforts of the centre in fostering values of tolerance and coexistence and promoting dialogue between religions and cultures. He affirmed that the centre came at a strategic time that requires to back its goals and activities as well as contribute to its national achievements in promoting peace and renouncing extremism and terrorism.
