HM the King worried about Thai people stranded in Indonesia
JAKARTA, July 31 (TNA) - His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn is worried about Thai tourists, stranded in Indonesia after the 6.4 magnitude earthquake struck the tourist island of Lombok on Sunday.
A landslide, triggered by the quake blocked the trails off the peak, leaving hundreds of trekkers stranded in the past two days.
About 200 Thai tourists are safe and they are gradually leaving for home in group.
The Thai embassy assisted them to travel home by AirAsia flights via Kuala Lumpur.
Thai ambassador to Jakarta Songphol Sukchan told Thai tourists that HM the King is worried about all Thais, affected by the quake and they rejoiced in learning that.
About 120 Thais are stay at the Lombok Raya hotel. 58 Thai tourists are scheduled to leave Lombok today and 24 others will travel home tomorrow.
The embassy will assist the remaining Thais, who cannot find flights to return home soon. (TNA)
