Solar energy use in hospital discussed

Manama, July 31 (BNA): Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Abdulhussain Mirza received American Mission Hospital (AMH) Executive Director George Cheriyan and praised the hospital’s efforts to provide the best medical and health services since the beginning of the twentieth century. Dr. Mirza said the hospital has today expanded its services to include more than 600 employees, including more than 100 doctors and established four branches in different regions of Bahrain. He added it is now working on a fifth branch. Dr. Cheriyan thanked the minister for providing continuous support and encouragement. He praised the level of services provided by the electricity and water sector and the Sustainable Energy Unit. He stressed the continued cooperation between the two sides to serve Bahrain. The two sides also discussed ways to activate the use of solar energy in some hospital facilities to contribute to the achievement of national goals that encourage the use of clean energy and improve energy efficiency, as well as follow the best ways that the hospital can apply in the rationalisation of electricity and water consumption.
