Phetchaburi prepares for flood

PHETCHABURI, Aug 6 (TNA) – Local residents in Phetchaburi’s provincial seat are warned to brace for flooding as the torrent of water in the Phetchaburi River will arrive there tomorrow late afternoon. The river will start to rise tonight and the impacts will be seen in the provincial tomorrow. People are advised to move their belonging to higher ground of about 80 cm. The authorities have worked to reduce the water level in the Kaeng Krachan Dam to delay water outflow and to relieve impacts on people, living downstream. The Royal Thai Army has deployed personnel, heavy machines and equipment to prepare for flooding. Medical mobile units and mobile kitchens have been mobilized to the province and sand embankments have been strengthened along the Phetchaburi River. (TNA)
