PM to inspect flood situation in Petchaburi

BANGKOK, Aug 6 (TNA) -- Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha planned to visit Phetchaburi province on August 8 to inspect the water management situation. Latest reports indicate that water levels in Kaeng Krachan Dam continues to rise and will likely overflow and cause flooding in the five districts in Petchaburi. During the visit, he will be meeting with local residents and be briefed from officials on the contingency plans they have to manage the exorbitant amounts of water. Originally Gen Prayut was slated to visit the Pasak Cholasit Dam in Lop Buri first but rescheduled in light of the urgent situation in Phetchaburi. After Phetchaburi Gen Prayut plans to visit Nakhon Phanom, Mukdaharn and Bueng Karn provinces to check on flood preparations. (TNA)
