Ministries to organize herb, food festival

BANGKOK, Aug 15 (TNA) -- The Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, the Ministry of Public Health, the Tourism and Sports Ministry and the Ministry of Interior will promote healthy diets in the herb and food festival they will organize at the IMPACT exhibition and convention center in Nonthaburi province late this month. Deputy Agriculture and Cooperatives Minister Wiwat Salyakamthorn said the ministries together with Chaophraya Abhaibhubejhr Hospital and the Pesticide Alert Network would organize the festival at Halls 7-8 of IMPACT center on Aug 29-Sept 2. The festival is aimed to raise public awareness and understanding on sustainable agriculture and present the projects and plans of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives. The festival will include exhibitions on the development of sustainable agriculture in Thailand, pilot projects on sustainable agriculture in 28 selected provinces, a law to promote sustainable agriculture, health care with organic vegetables and fruits, and the production of processed fruits and vegetables for health promotion. There will also be a trade fair presenting quality and unique products of the 28 provinces selected for sustainable agriculture projects. (TNA)
