Flood in Phetchaburi’s town center
PHETCHABURI, Aug 23 (TNA) – Floodwater is rising in Phetchaburi’s town center, forcing many schools to close.
The water level in the municipal area is about 10-40 cm. deep, surpassing sidewalks.
The main temple has been flooded, forcing monks to wade through water to receive morning alms.
Roads have been under water and nany motorcycles were seen breaking down while riding through flood.
The water is still on the rise as the Phetchaburi dam keeps the water discharge rate at 179 cubic metres per second to manage the increased water inflow into the dam.
The Phetchaburi River has the capacity to receive water at 150 cubic metres per second, so it is overflowing its banks. (TNA)
