PALESTINIAN EXHIBITION ON NATIONWIDE TOUR

KUALA LUMPUR, March 12 (Bernama) -- The foreign ministry and non-profit
organisation Yayasan Salam Malaysia (Salam) will organise a series of
exhibitions on Palestine at selected locations nationwide to highlight the
Israel's atrocities in Gaza.

Dubbed as the Palestinian Awareness Exhibition, the nationwide tour begins
at Parliament House and was launched by the Lower House Speaker Pandikar Amin
Mulia Wednesday.

Foreign Minister Dr Rais Yatim said the exhibition was part of Malaysia's
effort to condemn Israel's brutality in Gaza while at the same time, conveying
deep sympathy for the sufferings of the Palestinians.

He said some of the artifacts and photographs displayed in the exhibition
would also be used in the Foundation to Criminalise War workshop to be held in
London at end of the month.

"Several Israeli leaders who had given constructive opinions on the
humanitarian crisis in Palestine have been invited to participate in the
workshop.

"I will propose to the Cabinet that the Malaysian Government become the
pioneer in creating awareness on Israeli atrocities at the international-level,"
he told reporters after the launch.

About 100 photographs on the sufferings of the Palestinians in Gaza are
being displayed in the 14-day exhibition at the Parliament House.

Rais said the ministry would also try to exhibit photographs on the
effects of phosphorous bombs used by Israeli soldiers during the next round of
exhibition at the Putra World Trade Centre.

He said the Palestinian Embassy here had agreed to supply exclusive
photographs to be displayed at the exhibition.
