Japan’s idol group, AKB48 meet Thai PM

BANGKOK, Sept 13 (TNA) - Japan’s all-girl idol group AKB48, the sister band of BNK48 met Thai Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-ocha at Government House in Bangkok on Thursday. Gen Prayut greeted six members of AKB48 cordially, talking about Thai and Japanese food. He said AKB48 played an important role in Thai-Japanese cultural exchange among youth. He hoped the group would help promote Thai tourism among its fans in Japan and ASEAN when they will perform a concert in the Maya Music Festival here on Dec 8-9. Six members, meeting the prime minister today are Asai Nanami, Sasaki Yukari, Iwatate Saho, Mogi Shinobu,Nakanishi Chiyori, Chiba Erii. After the talks, AKB48 performed their megahit single “Koisuru Fortune Cookie" in front of the prime minister, he joined the AKB48 fans from the Wat Rajabopit School, carrying a concert light rod along the rhythm. After meeting the prime minister, deputy government spokesman Colonel Athisit Chainuwat led the idol group to take a tour around Government House and surrounding architecture. (TNA)
