Ivorian Investment Minister Praises Economic Cooperation between Qatar and Cote d'Ivoire
Doha, September 17 (QNA) - HE Ivorian State Secretary to the Prime Minister in charge of Private Investment Promotion Emmanuel Essis praised the strong economic cooperation relations between Qatar and Cote d'Ivoire, calling on the business community of both countries to improve their economic cooperation to the level of relations between the two countries.
Essis added during a meeting at Qatar Chamber for a trade delegation from Cote d'Ivoire that his country enjoys an economy open to foreign investments through the adoption of economic policies that encourage and protect those investments, as well as granting foreign investors many facilities, including the freedom of transfer of funds and VAT exemption, in addition to providing customs and tax incentives for investors, for about 15 years.
He pointed out that his country, which is undergoing deep economic reforms, has become one of the first countries in west of Africa, which is developing rapidly in various economic aspects, indicating that the establishment of any business in Cote d'Ivoire does not take more than one day, as all the procedures are done through a unified window.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed means of enhancing economic and trade cooperation, reviewing the investment opportunities available in both countries and the possibility of forging alliances and partnerships between Qatari and Ivorian businessmen.
For his part, First Vice Chairman of Qatar Chamber Mohamed bin Twar Al Kuwari said that there is a common desire between the business sector in the two countries to deepen economic and trade relations.
He pointed to the interest of the Qatari private sector to explore the investment opportunities available in Cote d'Ivoire, especially in the fields of agriculture, mining, tourism and real estate, pointing out to the aspiration of Qatari businessmen to learn about the opportunities in Cote d'Ivoire; and to discuss with their Ivorian counterparts the possibility of establishing partnerships and trade alliances in this field and to coordinate with the union of Ivorian chambers to pave the way for closer business between the two countries.
