President Jeenbekov to take part in UN General Assembly debates in New-York

Bishkek, Sept. 20, 2018. /Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov will take part in the UN General Assembly debates in New-York, Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Kyrgyz President’s Office Daniyar Sydykov told at a press conference at Kabar News Agency.
He said that the Kyrgyz leader will pay a working visit to New-York, USA, on September 23-27 to take part in the General Debates of the 73th session of the UN General Assembly.
“The visit of Sooronbay Jeenbekov, once again, demonstrates that Kyrgyzstan prioritizes the cooperation with the UN. the most significant events in the development of the relations between Kyrgyzstan and the UN are the visits of its Secretary Generals Ban Ki-moon in 2015 and António Guterres in 2017, as well as the visits of the former Speaker of Jogorku Kenesh (Kyrgyz Parliament) in 2012 and former President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambaev in 2017 to New-York”, Sydykov said.
He also noted that it is the first time that Jeenbekov is paying such visit.
“The visit should become an important political event for Kyrgyzstan, where the country leader will personally inform the world community on the important changes that occurred in the social-political and economic life of the country. In addition, the country leader will tell about the future reforms and strategic development areas of the country under his leadership”, Sydykov said.
