BTEA to organize training programme for tourist guides

Manama, Sep. 23 (BNA): The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), in collaboration with the World Association of Tour Guides (WTFGA), will host a specialized training programme for tourist guides organized by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).  The five-week training programme consists of two stages, the first stage will be held on September 22-October 15. It will provide approximately a 100 participants with the necessary training on building tourist guidance skills. While 12 participants will take part in the second stage titled (Train the trainers) on October 15-22.  BTEA’s Director of Facilities and Tourism Services, Hisham Al Saaken, said the programme within the BTEA’s strategy to upgrade the tourism sector to be a key contributor to the economic renaissance in line with Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.  Al Saaken added the BTEA constantly adopts initiative and projects to keep pace with the development witnessed in the tourism sector.
