2 seriously injured in strong wind+

TOKYO, March 14 Kyodo - At least two people were seriously injured Saturday when they were hit by strong wind caused by a low pressure system covering eastern Japan.

In Kawasaki, Kanagawa Prefecture, a 63-year-old woman collapsed in a strong
wind and broke her right leg, while in Matsudo, Chiba Prefecture, a 66-year-old
man broke his left shoulder and hip when his stepladder came down, according to
local authorities.
Railway operations were behind schedule in the Tokyo metropolitan area due to
the strong wind, with several routes suspended, according to the operators.
The Japan Meteorological Agency called for vigilance over strong wind and tidal
waves, forecasting the wind will continue from Saturday evening to Sunday
morning in the Hokkaido, Tohoku and Hokuriku regions.
