Governor, community leaders denounce defamation of national symbols

Manama, Sept. 25 (BNA): Northern Governor, Ali bin Shaikh Abdulhussain Al-Asfoor, has praised the patriotism and honourable stances of the Al-Malkiya villagers, citing their affirmation of their belonging to the nation and loyalty the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. This came as the governor received here today a delegation of the Al-Malkiya citizens representing the village’s institutions. Al-Asfoor conveyed to the members of the delegation greetings from the Interior Minister, Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, for their patriotic stances in support of their country’s interests and keenness to preserve the status of the national symbols, stressing that the Al-Malkiya villagers and all Bahrainis belong to a cohesive family, whose members are loyal to the leadership. The governor underlined the keenness of everyone to stand united in the face of the conspiracies staged against the nation, citing the acts carried out during the Ashoora season by a few misguided individuals who seek evil to the nation and intend to defame the country’s symbols. He praised the firm stance of the Al-Malkiya villagers in appreciating the kingdom’s efforts to provide all facilities for the Ashoora season and meet all its needs. The governor extended thanks to the members of the delegation who unanimously condemned and denounced the defamation of the symbols of the nation. They also unanimously praised the efforts of HM King Hamad and the government to support religious freedoms, including the Ashoora Commemoration season, and strongly rejected the practices of the misguided group and the need to face them by the force of the law. Al-Asfoor stressed the need to use the Hussaini pulpit for educational, social and intellectual guidance to raise the awareness of children, youth and youngsters, backing the measures taken by the Interior Ministry to arrest the perpetrators and refer them to justice.
