Bahrain's tolerance, peaceful coexistence highlighted

New York, Sept. 26 (BNA): Alistair Burt, Minister for Middle East Affairs at the UK Foreign Ministry, has praised the exhibition of This is Bahrain Society held in association with the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Co-existence, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA)'s 73rd session in New York City.
The British minister said the presence of the Bahraini exhibition in one of the main corridors of the United Nations constitutes an expressive international recognition of Bahrain’s pioneering experience in tolerance and peaceful co-existence, humanitarian values worth of being promoted around the world’s countries and regions. The British minister visited Bahrain’s exhibition at the United Nations, noting Bahrain’s long history of promoting the values of tolerance, moderation and peaceful co-existence among the various religious and cultures.
He expressed his delight to see the interaction of many visitors with this remarkable exhibition regarding the lessons and humanitarian values it conveys to the world’s countries and communities. He also said he had been impressed during his first visit to Bahrain visa-a-vis the amount of tolerance and rapport among the diverse faiths and cultures, which was quite exceptional at the level of the region and the world and reflected the keenness of His Majesty the King to ensure the spreading of the spirit of tolerance and peaceful co-existence among all.
He added that the presence of the Bahraini exhibition in the heart of the United Nations headquarters presented a unique opportunity of its type to showcase the numerous bright aspects of the distinguished Bahraini identity throughout the ages noting Bahrain’s magnificent humanitarian values similar to the peaceful co-existence prevalent among all religions and its long history of tolerance whilst continuously building on what was achieved to accomplish further progress and prosperity for its local community.
