Doha, September 26 (QNA) - Qatar Chamber held a meeting Wednesday with a delegation from the Indonesian Professional Engineers Association headed by President of the Association and Vice-President of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Raswari Anwar. The two sides discussed areas of cooperation between businessmen in both countries. Qatar Chamber Vice Chairman Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Tawar, stressed the importance of the Indonesian market to the private sector in Qatar, calling on Qatari businessmen to explore the opportunities available in the country, which increases the trade volume between the two countries, which last year amounted to 342 million dollars. Bin Tawar pointed out that there are Qatari investments in Indonesia in the fields of banking and telecommunications, while 9 Indonesian Qatari companies are working in the Qatari market in the fields of construction, engineering and technology. The First Vice-President of the Chamber affirmed that the State of Qatar was able to overcome the repercussions of the blockade imposed on the country for more than a year ago thanks to the wise vision of its leadership and thanks to the governmental measures taken after the blockade. Bin Tawar pointed out that Qatar was able to shift the consequences of the blockade to gains, as the blockade contributed to accelerate the implementation of economic strategic plans and stimulate business owners to launch new projects in all sectors, while opening new channels of communication with foreign markets in friendly countries, where the private sector played a positive role during the crisis, and Qatari companies contributed to ensure the continuity of providing goods and commodities in the domestic market, through increased production and import to fill any gap.
