HDC Win Two BrandLaureate World Halal BestBrands Awards 2018

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 28 (Bernama) – Halal Industry Development Corporation (HDC) received The BrandLaureate World Halal Strategic Business Partner Award at The BrandLaureate World Halal BestBrands Awards 2018 ceremony, here, Thursday. Its chief executive/managing director, Jamil Bidin was awarded The BrandLaureate World Halal Lifetime Achievement Brand Leadership of the Year Award at the same event. HDC is an agency under the Ministry of Economic Affairs. Jamil paid tribute to the continuous government involvement in positioning Malaysia as the global leader for the halal industry. “The awards demonstrate a strong recognition for the government of Malaysia for driving the halal industry to the global arena. The government has built a comprehensive ecosystem for our halal industry which has been one of our advantages at present,” he said. For the past five years, the halal industry has contributed about five to six per cent yearly to the country’s total export and this encouraging trend will continue or even increase with strong support from the government. -- BERNAMA
