Justice Ministry receives NGOs' applications to participate in overseeing elections

Manama, Oct. 1 (BNA): Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Ministry Undersecretary for Justice Affairs and member of the Higher Committee to oversee integrity of the elections Chancellor Wael Rashid Buallay announced starting reception of applications from non-government organisations (NGOs) wishing to participate in overseeing the elections. He said reception of the applications will take place on the third floor of the Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Ministry, in the Diplomatic Area during the official work hours. Submission of the applications will continue until November 5, 2018. Chancellor Buallay said the applicants' names, personal numbers and two photos shall be enclosed with application form, which could be printed out from the elections website www.vote.bh. The Higher Committee to oversee integrity of the elections issued on Sunday, September 30 a decision concerning national supervision of the elections engaging the NGOs in the impartial national supervision. The decision aims to maximise the democratic gains and promote impartiality of the electoral process which is underscored by the full supervision of the judiciary.
