Interior Minister receives UK dignitaries

Manama, Oct.1 (BNA): Minister of Interior Lt-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa today received the Rt Hon Sir Alan Duncan KCMG MP, Minister of State for Europe and the Americas at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, and Sir Geoffrey Tantum, OBE,CMG, who are visiting Bahrain. The minister expressed his happiness at the meeting and congratulated Sir Geoffrey for being honoured by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II with knighthood last month. The title is given to important and influential personalities for their international contribution and achievements in various sectors. Sir Geoffrey was honoured with the title for his distinguished services and the major contribution in enhancing the Bahrain-UK ties over more than 20 years by supporting common interests and reinforcing cooperation between the two states. The meeting also reviewed issues of common interest.
