Representatives Council holds extraordinary meeting

Manama, Oct. 7 (BNA): Representatives Council Speaker Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al Malla chaired today the Representatives Council's first meeting of the extraordinary session which convened in line with the Royal Order 45 for 2018. The council approved a report by the Legislative and Legal Affairs Committee on amending article 91 of the constitution of the Kingdom of Bahrain and decided to refer it to the Shura Council. It also approved a report by the Committee of Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security on Decree-Law 44 / 2018 regarding international crimes and decided to refer it to the Shura Council. The council also approved a report by the Services Committee regarding Decree-Law 45 / 2018 on the pension system and the retirement remuneration of members of the Shura and Representatives Councils and the municipal councils. The Representatives Council decided to refer it to the Shura Council. The council reviewed a report by the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee regarding Decree-Law 46 / 2018 on approving the framework arrangements for financial cooperation concerning fiscal balance in Bahrain for the period 2018-2022. The agreement was concluded on October 4, 2018 between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the UAE, the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Arab Monetary Fund. The council approved the report and decided to refer it to the Shura Council. It also approved a report by the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee concerning Decree-Law 47 / 2018 on ratifying a unified agreement for the Value Added Tax (VAT) in the Gulf Cooperation Council member states. It decided to refer it to the Shura Council. The Representatives Council also approved and referred to the Shura Council a report regarding Decree-Law 48 / 2018 on the Value Added Tax (VAT).
