HRH Premier receives U.S deputy secretary of state

Manama, Oct. 13 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has described the Bahrain-U.S relations as “strategic, historical and strong”, expressing pride in the remarkable progress of bilateral cooperation on all levels thanks to the support they receive as a result of the policies of the U.S President Donald Trump towards friendly and allied countries in the region. HRH Premier stressed that the U.S cooperation with its friends and allies in the region is a necessity imposed by the requirements of security and stability, noting that Saudi Arabia is among the cornerstones of global security and stability, as well as the greatest and most important ally. “Supporting Saudi Arabia is a support for us, because it represents all of us,” he said. The Prime Minister made the statements while receiving, at his Palace in Riffa today, the Deputy Secretary of State of the United States of America, John J. Sullivan, with whom he discussed ways to bolster cooperation between the two friendly countries in various fields. HRH Premier welcomed the U.S official’s visit, expressing hope that it will push the outstanding bilateral relations forward, and open up new horizons that would serve common interests. The Prime Minister lauded the steady growth of the Bahraini-U.S relations in all fields, thus embodying the deep-rooted bilateral ties which have always been based on mutual respect and shared desire to reach the highest levels of cooperation. HRH Premier underlined Bahrain’s keenness on enhancing areas of cooperation with the U.S.A, based on the two countries’ constant joint understanding and coordination on many regional and international issues. HRH the Prime Minister highlighted the importance of the current level of cooperation between the two countries in the political, security and military fields in boosting efforts aimed at achieving regional security and stability. The U.S Deputy Secretary of State conveyed to HRH Premier greetings from U.S President, Donald Trump, as well as the appreciation of the U.S.A and its government of the Prime Minister’s efforts to bolster bilateral relations. John J. Sullivan lauded the interest of the Government of Bahrain, led by HRH Premier, in pushing bilateral ties forward, stressing his country’s keenness to deepen its distinguished cooperation and friendship relations with Bahrain in various fields.
