HRH Crown Prince congratulated

Manama, Oct.13 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier received a cable of congratulations from Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Dr. Abdul Hussain bin Ali Mirza on Bahrain’s winning of the membership of the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) for the period 2019-2021. Dr. Mirza extended deepest congratulations to HRH the Crown Prince on the achievement which, he said, crowns the wise approach of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and his pioneering reform and sustainable development project. The milestone reflects the International Community’s appreciation of Bahrain’s achievements in respecting human rights and political, civil, economic and social freedoms, he said. “The election of the Kingdom of Bahrain as member of the UNHRC by a total of 165 votes, or 86 per cent of the votes of the UN General Assembly, confirms the increasing global confidence in the kingdom’s distinguished record in preserving human rights, freedoms and dignity, and embodies the world’s respect for the pioneering humanitarian initiatives launched by HM the King for the sake of fostering tolerance and co-existence among religions, cultures and civilisations, and backing the international efforts to consolidate security and peace, the minister also said. The minister also stressed that the kingdom’s winning top prestigious international positions is a source of pride for everyone in Bahrain, and a catalyst for them to carry out their constitutional duties to preserve the national development and democratic gains, enhance the kingdom’s status as a role model for reform and human rights respect, back the comprehensive sustainable development march during HM King Hamad’s prosperous era and support HRH Premier’s efforts to boost sustainable development in the kingdom.
