HM King congratulated by HH Shaikh Khalid

Manama, Oct. 14 (BNA): HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Athletics Association (BAA), congratulated HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, on the achievement of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee (BAC), Captain of the Bahrain Endurance 13 Team, who won the title of the Ironman World Championship, which ended on Sunday in the capital of Hawaii, Kona.
HH Shaikh Khalid affirmed that the unprecedented achievement of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa is a clear result of the patronage and support of HM the King to Bahraini sports and athletes, which contributed to HH's achievement of this level of competition and honourable accomplishment.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa commended HH Shaikh Nasser's tremendous display in the competition, beating contestants despite the strength of competition in all stages of the championship. "HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa has clearly demonstrated determination and strength to overcome all obstacles in order to achieve one goal: to cross the finish line and claim the championship title," HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa said, adding: "It is a pleasure to watch HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa move confidently towards the desired goal. He had determined to reach the World Championship and has thus succeeded. Today, we see him deservedly crowned the hero of Ironman, which proves that HH Shaikh Nasser is a true model of a successful athlete and leader who never gives in. HH had termed the year 2018 as the 'Year of Gold', which is what he has achieved in this world event."
